Medical Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with LifeAbove.

One key aspect of LifeAbove's mission is providing rehabilitation to the victims and responders of a natural disaster. Although, many foreign aid respond to natural disasters to help and give medical care to the victims in response to saving lives, rehabilitation services are severely lacking. Most foreign countries have few health resources let alone rehabilitation services and the poorly developed infrastructure before a natural disaster causes even greater burden on the existing health system and community. Because aid is short lived, victims suffering from psychological trauma, disabilities or impairments suffer long term effects without the continuation of care and progression of rehabilitation. Our medical volunteers are dedicated to restoring Hope to the hopeless by donating their time, expertise, knowledge and skills and their love of Christ to help empower the disabled and their communities.

LifeAbove requires our medical volunteers to be trained in disaster relief care, hold current state license in good standing, certified experts with one year of teaching or clinical experience in counseling, or psychology, or board certification plus one year of clinical experience in psychology or chiropractic post completion of academic training.

The Projection

LifeAbove will have six scheduled missions to underdeveloped communities who are still suffering from a natural disaster or are lacking health resources in rehabilitation. Three other missions will be in response to current natural disasters. A possible nine missions is projected for the first year of operation. The missions will range from short trips of four days or long trips of seven to fourteen days. LifeAbove is dedicated in the long term efforts of enabling our neighbors and will establish long lasting relationships with the communities and countries and help build rehabilitation centers for the disabled. Typical activities will include rehabilitation, patient and family education, community and health personnel education, education and training on assistive devices, and helping with other needed tasks.
